brooklyn in the news...

brooklyn Jazz Cafe is Dallas South's number one spot in town. (posted October 2008)
For the second year in a row, Lorna Tate's jazzy place is Dallas South's number one spot in town. Since moving from The Bishop Arts District, brooklyn has added addition space, a gaming area and a courtyard, consequently offering a wide range of entertainment options all under one roof. Still offering the very best in LIVE music and a diverse menu, brooklyn continues to be a must visit.

48 hours in Dallas features brooklyn. (posted August 2008)
Dallas tourism officials want to attract more diverse visitors. The Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau recently teamed up with the Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce to launch a visitor site aimed at African-American travelers. The site www.visitblackdallas.com and its companion visitor guide feature dining, entertainment and shopping destinations around the city that may be of particular interest.

One of those guides are “48 hours around Dallas” http://www.visitblackdallas.com/48_hours.html
If you're only in town for the weekend, brooklyn Jazz Café is listed as a suggested destination. For the complete listing visit www.visitblackdallas.com

What’s new at brooklyn? (posted Dec. 2007)
brooklyn has opened it's latest vision for an expanded facility and additional amenities. With our new expanded space we will now be able to more effectively and efficiently offer banquet style and larger meeting spaces. However, our most dramatic addition is that of brooklyn’s offspring "jazzy's place".  Still a part of brooklyn but providing offerings such as billiards, darts, stationary chess/checkers tables, shuffleboard, wide screen TVs for sporting events and yet another place to enjoy adult beverages as well as a fabulous covered courtyard.  ''jazzy's place" will complement brooklyn and its jazz format by providing alternative music such as blues, old school, neo soul and reggae, among others.
"jazzy’s place" is a great addition to the entertainment already offered at brooklyn, this unique concept fits well with the already established themed music and dinning area. The new facility “jazzy’s place” is apart of brooklyn and can be enjoyed by all those who visit brooklyn.

brooklyn Offers Free Wi-Fi
(posted July 2007)
brooklyn Jazz Cafe has deployed a free Wi-Fi network which covers the entire venue. The network will be open to the public. The idea for Wi-Fi at brooklyn arose as a result of a desire to better serve our patrons, visitors and neighbors.  The Wi-Fi network ideally makes the venue more welcoming to visitors.  But, the network also provides us with a new channel through which we can communicate with our visitors.  We hope to explore the future possibility of providing special content through the Wi-Fi network – for instance, performances that may be simultaneously streamed in the public spaces, audio and/or video clips of performances, interviews with performers, etc. Those are very exciting options that we hope to explore in the coming months and years.
